What are schedules?

Schedules control when and how your customers are billed.

When your account is first set up, a default schedule is set up for you. This is a manual schedule, which means that to perform a billing run, you have to run it manually. It is worth noting that the majority of Billingbooth users stick to just using this schedule as it gives them full control of when their billing is performed.

However, you have the ability to edit the default schedule to make your billing automated or even create multiple schedules to be able to assign specific customers to specific schedules as required.

For example, you have an arrangement with Company Alpha to bill them on the 1st of the month and an arrangement with Company Bravo to bill them on the 5th of the month. Having both customers on the same schedule wouldn't work, so you would ensure you have a schedule that handles customers who want to be billed on the 1st of the month and a schedule that handles customers who want to be billed on the 5th of the month.

These could be automated or even set to manual wherein you're simply utilising the advantages of having your customers on different schedules.
